Your mission:
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to lead the development and management of our core infrastructure systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture, optimisation, and security of our infrastructure tools and platforms, ensuring they support the company’s operational goals. You will take ownership of critical systems, mentor other engineers, and drive strategic initiatives around automation, reliability, and scalability.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and lead the development and administration of core DevOps tools for version control, build, configuration management, etc.
- Lead efforts in refining and improving the CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab and Jenkins.
- Oversee the process design, testing, and implementation of OS updates, ensuring systems are secure and up-to-date.
- Define and enforce best practices for infrastructure access management, ensuring secure and compliant access control.
- Lead the build, maintenance, and administration of container images, ensuring the integrity and performance of container repositories.
- Oversee the administration and enhancement of monitoring systems, ensuring that infrastructure health is continuously monitored.
- Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to integrate DevOps practices and streamline workflows.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with common DevOps tool such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible, Terraform for maintenance, administration and automation.
- Deep knowledge of Linux OS, particularly Debian, with the focus on patch management, security and performance optimisation.
- Advanced skills in containerisation, including building and optimising base images and managing container repositories.
- Proven track record in administering monitoring systems such as Zabbix and Prometheus/Thanos in a high-availability environment.
- Experience leading and mentoring DevOps engineers, providing technical leadership across teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, with hands-on experience in fundamental services such as EC2, VPC, and IAM.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Proficiency in Shell scripting, Python or Golang for building custom tools and automation.
- Exposure to Kubernetes and Istio for container orchestration and management.
It’ll also be an advantage if you have experience in:
- Finance experience or knowledge of Trading
- Knowledge of TradingView 😁
